The oval image above is a screen shot from the list of forums. From there, you can click on the words in red to edit your profile, to register, to change your preferences, to read the FAQ, and to perform two kinds of searches. Or you can click on the word Lobby (in red on the actual screen) to return to this page, where you can learn more about these services.
The #1 question | how do I register?
The #2 question | what do I do if I lose my UserName or password?
Tip | To search a web page, select Find from your browser's Edit menu.
Your user profile includes your UserName, your password, and some brief information you chose to disclose when you registered. At any time, you may edit your profile. Click profile here or on any Bistro page where you see it on the upper right. See the Bistro Lobby screen shot above.
First, you'll identify yourself by typing your UserName and password. Then you'll see a screen formatted like the registration screen depending on the width of your browser window.
Yes. From a different email address, register again and stop using the old one.
From the same email address, email report@toLearn.net and ask to have the UserName associated with that address deleted. After you hear by email that the old name was deleted, you can register again.

First, you'll identify yourself by typing your user name and password. You will then see the information you entered on the registration screen. You may change any profile or preference information except your UserName and your status.
After you post forty messages, your status will automatically change from junior member to member. This policy intends to encourage posting.
If you want to host or co-host a forum and get Backstage privileges, please email one of the proprietors.
Anyone, whether registered or not, may read messages, view profiles, and search.
Members may reply to messages, start new topics, and edit their own messages. They may also set their own preferences and profile information.
Hosts are members who can edit or delete any message in their forums. They also may take some responsibility for moving a discussion along. For example, they may close a thread or post an announcement. If you have a problem or question about a specific forum, ask the host first.
Proprietors are members who are responsible for every aspect of the Bistro's content as well as its look and feel. Please email a proprietor if you feel as though a message needs to be edited because it violates privacy or copyright or if you have a problem or suggestion that a forum host can't help you with.
Yes, you may modify two preferences at any time. The Bistro doesn't remember these preferences on the server. Instead, it sets a cookie on your PC or laptop's hard drive, which reminds the Bistro who you are each time you visit.
Click preferences (or "prefs") here or on any Bistro page where you see it on the upper right. See the Bistro Lobby screen shot above.
First, you'll identify yourself by typing your UserName and password. Then you'll see a screen formatted like this depending on the width of your browser window.

1) As a registered Bistro member, you may store your UserName and password for up to one year. This will prevent you from having to type your user name and password every time you post a message.
2) You also have the option of changing the topic view, the default number of days to view recently posted messages. For example, if you set it to 20, it will display messages from only the previous twenty days.
3) If your email address is not viewable, you will retain that much privacy.

One kind of search is so common that it has its own link. Take a look at the Lobby screen shot below. By clicking the red words "today's active topics," you'll see a listing of all the messages posted within the last 24 hours.
For a more general search, you can search the rest of Ricci Street. Click "search" on the top right navigation bar. In the screen shot below, you'll find it between "Bistro" and "sitemap".

To search just the Bistro messages, click search here or on any Bistro page where you see it on the upper right. On the Bistro Lobby screen shot above, it is to the left of Matteo Ricci's hat. After you click that "search", you'll see a screen formatted like this depending on the width of your browser window.

You may search for specific messages based on a word or words found in the messages, by forum, by date, and by author's UserName.
