Introduce yourself. What are you doing as a job now? What do you expect to be doing as a job in ten years? How will you expect to use networked computers in that job? How will your home life be different?

I am currently doing two things for income. I work in promotions part-time distributing products and promo materials in bars/clubs at night. I am also in real estate, as a licensed agent for Polis realty. In addition, I am working on starting up the West Side Youth & family Coalition, a group intersted in offering opportunity to those less fortunate in out city.

In ten years, I hope to be running a successful self-started non-profit. If not, I hope to be volunteering my time/skills to a positive organization and having a really fun job in marketing/PR! Either of these options would allow me to use my new knowledge in computers as it will offer more opportunity to the company/organization with which I am affiliated.

Hi everyone. My name is Tera and I started the MBA program last August. I currently work at the University at Buffalo in the Blake Academic Success Center. This past year I did more marketing/planning of events because the Center was relatively new, and now I am working on the tutoring program that we provide to UB students free of charge.

As far as where I will be in ten years, well, I really don't know. I hope to have a future job in which I will find my MBA to be of value. After I graduate, I would like to get back into the marketing field hopefully at a non-profit organization. I did my marketing internship at The Cleveland Clinic a few years ago and now I work at UB, and I really have enjoyed working in those types of settings, so therefore, I think non-profit organizations are for me. It will be interesting to take a look farther in the future than most do throughout this class.

My name is Anne Schule and I have been at Medaille for over two years now. I will be finished by May of next year. Currently I am a Branch Manager for Bank of America.

My Branch is in downtown Buffalo at Fountain Plaza. In the next ten years I hope to be with a financial institution, maybe Bank of America, preferably specializing in small business. I find as a manager you have to wear too many hats and it can be quite exhausting, so after a few years I would like to narrow my efforts into one division of the bank.

As of now, my basic knowledge of computers serves me well. In most larger corporations the systems are highly restricted and monitored which makes anything I learned in 504 useless at work, but I’m really glad I know what I know now. The trend is obviously toward technology, so in my future endeavors I’m certain that I will have to adapt with the changing climate.

In regards to how my home life will be different; who knows…I’ll keep you posted on that!

Hi everyone my name is Tim Dove and I am part of the same class that will be graduating in May/June 2007. Previously I attended Canisius College(MBA) for a year where I took a few different classes that were essentailly all the same.
I would describe myself as someone who has more common sense than book smarts. I am most interested in marketing/advertising while my previous job had nothing to do with it. I was a Manager for regional delta sonics as far as Rochester; managing, training, (some marketing) etc...
In 10 years I will be at the ripe age of 35. I am unsure where I will be, but strive to just be comfortable and happy. That will come into play as I hope to be in marketing/pr/advertising because I see it as an interest more than a job.

Hello, My name is Sean Collins, i started the MBA program last August, and will finish next May, god willing.

I currently work as the office manager for the Children's Hospital Dental Clinic, and University Pediatric Dentistry, the largest Pediatric Dentist Company in New York. I currently use computer networking daily, as we have over 10 offices accross WNY linked together, and i am an administrator for the program(Dentrix), our servers are located at the University Of Buffalo, so we do a lot of work over there as well.

In ten years, I plan on working in the sports management field, hopefully in San Diego or LA. I recieved an undergraduate sports management degree, and that is the only field i am shooting for at this point, so hopefully it all comes together in the next ten years, if not, i will continue to work at it.

My name is Keith Gaume and I am currently working at HSBC Bank USA. In the banking industry, technology is constantly changing. I am currently working in commercial loan services and we use technology every day to report numbers to finance and the general ledger. We have one outdated reporting system developed in the 80's along with a new accounting system that we purchased last year so I get to see both aspects of how technology can help and hurt an organization. I currently manage a commercial loan department and although I am not in IT, I do get to work closely with our IT department and see what all of these costs to an organization. I hope in the next ten years I will be making decisions on what systems the bank purchases and which one's wouldn't be worth the cost. Right now, I only make recommendations to upper management but I believe with my MBA and classes like this one, I can make more educated decisions on technology.

My home life should be different because it will help me in making decisions on television and appliances. Just for instance, I have friends who purchased 4-5 thousand dollar HD television sets a few years ago that you can buy for 6 or 7 hundred now. I want to be able to do the research and decide when is the right time to make a big investment in my home life also.

My name is Kevina Collins and my expected graduation date is May 2007. Currently I am a manager at Wegmans, where I have been for the past 8 years ( time for a change). In the next ten year I see myself getting into real estate of some sort and working on my time having my own business of some sort (I really hate 9-5’s. )

I'm currently a marketing manager for Rich Products. I manage the Icings, Fillings and Mixes category. I'm responsible for the managing the profitability of this category, developing strategic plans, development, managing and launching of new products into the markeplace, sales support, and marketing reseach analysis.

I would like to eventually return to the creative side of marketing at a high level in a larger corporation where I can utilize my many years of diverse marketing experience. Since I've had a few years of technical experience plus my MBA experience I would hope to use that technical experience to advance the organization technologically to improve efficiency and communication.

My home life will have the most technical advancements I can afford since I understand and can implement and use them.

I'm Jonathan Gill, and I work here at Medaille managing the College's publications. I coach soccer at the premier level and here at Medaille. I am also heavily involved with the Ronald McDonald House of WNY, currently serving as the Board President.

I have a wife and three step-daughters, as well as three dogs. I still play soccer, and I also take guitar lessons.

In my previous profession, I was an account supervisor for a large ad agency. So communications is my strength.

I hope to use my MBA so that in ten years I can manage people and business in the industry, rather than just the strategy behind communication efforts.

Hello, my name is Taheerh. I started the MBA program in 2003. I guess I should have completed the program by now. I took a year off because I thought the program was too expensive and then decided to return last year. I'm currently a Community Programs Manager at Heritage Centers. Here, I hire and train staff to work directly with the developmentally disabled population.

Ten years from now I plan to be living in another state, own some real estate and be in administration for a not-for-profit agency. Pretty such any career path you choose you will need some sort of computer skills. I feel that I have gained a solid foundation in this area as a result of the MBA program.

My name is Rick Mariano. I am an account executive for an Advertising Agency called Eric Mower and Associates. I handle a lot of Fisher-Price's in-store advertising and promotions. I also handle the American Diabetes Association outdoor advertising. Im also the Chair of Communications for the ADA.
In ten years I would like to work in the higher levels of marketing for a major corporation. I would also like to own a small business on the side. A little vacation $$.
I will use networked computers to be able to communicate in real time with several people involved in a project speaking different languages.
I feel that home life won't change too much. I’m a single guy in an apartment, im never there during the day and I eat out almost every night. So I basically only sleep and shower at my "home life". I think in 10 years I will still need to sleep and shower...hopefully.

This response is really late but you know what they say better late than never. My name is LeMar Ward I currently work as Network Operator for Delaware North Companies. In 10 years I hope to working as an IT consultant and own my own small car dealership and/or small real-estate firm. With me working in the IT department networked computers will be a huge part of my job. I will be the one setting up the networked computers enabling effective communication throughout organizations. Hopefully my home life will be more relaxed because with me being a business owner hopefully I will only have to work part-time.

I apologize for the late response.

As you all know by now, my name is Amr Abbas. I work in the Pharmaceutical field as a Neurology and Urology Specialty Consultant for the entire Western New York area. To put it in very simple terms: to be a Specialty representative, you are expected to know, at the very least, everything there is to know about your designated disease state(s), which in my case are three: Strokes, Parkinson's and Benign Prostatic Hyperplasia (BPH).

In 10 years, I do hope to remain with my company. It is hard to find good companies to work for these days, and the fact that it is a family owned private company (not publicly traded) makes it even better and more special to work for. I am aspiring to become an international marketing executive in charge of our drug that prevents secondary strokes / TIAs. I cannot formulate an idea concerning using networked computers, but I do know computers are essential to our business today. If you mean whether I will attempt to, for example, use teleportation instead of travel and recent technologies, then the answer is yes. I do plan on keeping up with technology and utilize it to the maximum allowable limit (provided we are able to safeguard important and private information).

My home life is a wreck as it is Between work and school and travel, I am just glad I am still alive I don't know how my home life will be in 10 years, but I hope it will be easier and that I will find more time to spend at home without thinking about work. This is the down side of being competitive and determined I guess. But I am blessed either way. I promised myself to try my best to work hard now so in 10 or 15 years I am in a better shape for, hopefully, an early retirement. YEAH BABY!

Then again, I do want to be involved in the political life somehow. I see myself being very involved politically, since there is very weak Arab and Muslim political representation in the US today. Hopefully I will be able to accomplish this goal and be able to help a lot of people out through this avenue, and better yet provide an easier life for a lot of Arabs/Americans (including my own kids who I worry about raising them here everyday, but such is life). So as you can see, it seems as though in 10 years I may be working even more (ggrrrrrr) But I love it. It's all good and I am so blessed.

It's pleasure meeting you all. Best of luck to everyone.

Cheers.
