I recommend that you get the RSS feeds sent directly to your mailbox. By reading the headlines every day, you can get a quick overview of what's going on. Then go to the web sites and read only the articles that interest you.
Use an RSS feed aggregator like SharpReader or get an email client like Thunderbird (the one I use) that has an RSS reader built in.
